TradingView Platform and Chart Set-up

There are a lot of things that could be set-up for a platform and a chart.  I will just get you started and then you can look at some YouTube videos and decide how you want to set up your platform.

Something to know about, if you will be trading on Amp, is the D could show up at the top middle of the chart next to the green “data light.”  You can see an example in the chart below.  If you ever see this it indicates that you are working with delayed data, which is very bad for live trading.  It cost me a little money and a lot of bother.  You will get this if you are using a demo that does not have live data or if you have a trading account but have opened TradingView in a new window and are only allowed one live window in your paid version of TradingView.  See the D below in the chart example.  It is at the top middle.  You will not have this problem in NinjaTrader.

Chart Graphing Options

I just use the regular candelsticks all the time now.  I did check out other options, but to do what I teach (quick in and out scalping), that is what you want.

Where Things Are

I think that will help a lot.  Finding things like the “log off” can take a while if you just have to hunt for it with no guidance.  One more thing that is important, which could take a bit of time looking, is how to turn off the confirmation for buying and selling.  It really slows down the process and covers up the whole area so that it is not possible to see what is going on with the price action.  To turn off confirmation, click on the round gear at the top right side and then click on trading and check the box that says, “Instant Orders Placement.”  That will take care of it.

NinjaTrader Platform

If you decide to use NinjaTrader, there is one important thing I want to tell you to save you a lot of frustration.  It is about how to move the chart up and down.  It is not intuitive.  You do it using the control key, as below:

* Hold down the Ctrl button and left mouse button

* While holding down both Ctrl + Left Mouse button move the mouse up or down
